New 6 dasher PD Rig

Stiller Diamondback drop port, 10 twist 27" Brux bbl, muscle break, jewel, McMillian, Sightron SIII.

I've fireformed 50 rounds of brass for it so far. Plenty of copper first 5 rounds, now I can run a string of 20 with no perceptable copper on the patch.

Groups are running from .4" to 1". Tried about a dozen different loads today over the chrono just trying to see what it likes. I'm going to fireform around 400 rounds brass for it and intend to do so over a PD town at 6 BR velocities. A couple of my fireforming loads went around 1/2" moa so I should be good to go for that objective.

Very nice.

I've fireformed several thousand round of Dasher brass in the prairie dog towns in a 21 1/4", 14 twist, Hart, ex-PPC, rechambered barrel with 32 grains of VV-133, with 55 grain moly plated Ballistic Tips running right at 3550.

Outstanding performance.............

Mike,

You should show them some pics of the flute matching we did with the bolt and Barrel. Probably the sharpest combo i have done yet.

Good Luck with your shooting

I think it was 65% white, 25% dark grey, 20% black.

I think that's the last McSwirly I'll order though. I'll go painted in the future and keep more hair on my head.

It was awesome though that McMillan had the inletting for an action as obscure as the diamondback programmed into their cnc's. Saved me a bunch of trouble.

Basicly the same thing Im going to build! In 6br though.

Im just not sure which action to use..

Thats a Hunter Benchrest stock if Im not mistaken.

I'll try to take more pics tomorrow if I can get to the range. Spent today staining fence - grrrrrrrr!

Stock is a McMillan HBR.

Nice rifle for sure. How are you liking the Neo rest ? I first sat down behind one at the 600 yd. Nationals in St. Louis last fall and just had to get on the waiting list for one...and still waiting.

awesome looking rifle.. what kind of speeds have you croney;ed so far?
is it glued or screwed in the stock??

Thanks guys for the compliments.
It's screwed in. I'm not a serious enough gun nut to be doing glue-ins.
I'm fireforming with 32 gr benchmark/450 primer/75 gr vmax at 3325 fps. Groups are just under 1/2". I've still got 300 + rounds to fireform so haven't started developing loads for the formed brass yet. Brief experimentation showed 3500 fps will be possible with the 75gr and benchmark.
This bbl is pretty light for it's 27" length so I don't think it will average in the low .3's. I'll be satisfied with low .4's out of it and go with a heavier contour in 26" when it's time to rebarrel.
These groups are typical of what I'm getting with 32gr benchmark/75 gr vmax while fireforming. Bullets are jammed HARD into the lands to prevent misfires. I'm looking forward to playing with seating depth with the fireformed brass.
