New .308 win project

Got her all together guys what do you think?
New .308 dog slayer!!

Stock is a Richards micro fit AAA grade claro walnut
fit, pillar bedded, and finished by me.
Savage Model 10 action trued and timed by Fred at SSS with his competition trigger.
PTG fluted bolt with custom bolt handle
Shilen select match varm taper 26" 10 twist chamberd on .308
CDI bottom metal fitted by me.
Nikon M308 with BDC reticle
Burris signiture zee rings with Farrel 20moa base bedded to action.

Was thinking about the barrel; should I leave the finish as is or should I coat it to match action or get it bead blasted? What do you guys think?

nice looking rifle. I would not do anything to the barrel it looks awesome as it is. I had that same barrel and it shot very well for me.

Just curious...how long did SSS have your action? I've heard horror stories about taking up to a year just to do the action ???

Nice rifle! Still a fan of good ole walnut stocks! Keep us posted on how it shoots. I would leave barrel as is..

Well it took quite awhile to get work done by Fred
IV gotten 2 actions done one took 9 months
This one took 6 months
They have waiting list so they will email you when they are ready to work on your project.
The wait is pretty redic but he does great work
Best thing to do if you got the extra cash is get a spare action that way your not down waiting on your action

the rifle looks beautiful good job! range report is needed in the future.

You better ship it to me so you wont get hurt from the abusive recoil,LOL That thing looks sweet.I love the .308!!!!!!!!!!

Im going to see how reliable this BDC reticle is on this M308 scope.
I'v got some land I can shoot 1000yrds if I want to so this should be interesting!

I think I will start off with some Hornady superformance and see how they fly!

I need to get into hand loading my own!

Your not going to shoot that thing are you? It looks like you did a nice job. Have fun shooting it.

Beautiful stock, you did a real nice job. Inletting for the CDI isn't an easy chore if your tools are limited. The barrel, in my opinion, does not need to be coated. ;)
