New .30 cal. 225 gr. ELDM

I wanted to know if anyone has shot this round. The BC is .777 and that, if true is outstanding.
Anyone know of this? All the other ELDMs I have shot were great and had accurate BCs.

Thanks

Looks like a great bullet. 4 DOF shows it will work well in a 1 in 10" twist. Some of the other heavy, high BC 30 cal bullets require a 1 in 9" twist.

Student,

I shoot the BTHPs in my 300 WM, they work fine with a 1-10 twist. May just be me, but I don't trust anything with a tip when it comes to consistency at distance. Whatever the difference in BC, I have enough velocity to make BC a moot point at the distances I shoot. 1k is fine, haven't tried a mile yet.

Thanks for your input. I shoot all my 300win mags with at least a 9 twist. With the high BC bullets that are out now I/we need it. Currently I shoot the 208ELDM and I have shot them over 1700 yards when the weather permitted and I am happy with them. They seem to fly true. I agree with you about shooting tipped bullets long range- I am leary of tipped projectiles but the ELDMs have shot great for me so I will keep on keeping on. :) I just can't believe that BC Hornady has posted for the 225. .777 WOW!!!! I guess I will just have to see in the spring. I used to and occasionally still do shoot Berger. Generally speaking, Berger makes the finest bullets around. However that isn't to say that another company can make a bullet that "just flies" .... For as much as I shoot it was economically better to shoot the ELDMs (I can buy 3 boxes for the price of 2 Bergers)
Thanks
