I just ordered a new 20P barrel for my Rem 600, 20 weeks out, at least it will get here while the pelts are prime. The 600 has been with me since 1967, it started out as a 223 from the factory one of only two that went to commercial sales that I know of. Not having the internet back then I never knew it wasn't a cataloged item and almost all chambered in 223 went to LE. It served me well hunting fox when they were worth a C-note each and then doing control work. Many thousands of rounds later I rebarreled it to 6x45, while a great round that worked well for control work it was hard on pelts. Hence the 20 Practical reincarnation. It is in a synthetic stock and aluminum bottom metal and the 20" sporter weight 20 P should make a great calling rifle. Nice to have a rifle with a half a century of reliable service.
It will either get a 1.5-6x42 scope which it is wearing now or I have a 2-12x42 sitting in a box, it's sister 20P 21"HB barrel wears the same and has done yeoman service killing coyotes.
