New .204 Upper

Boys,
I want to buy a new .204 upper for my AR.

What twist would you buy? I want to shoot heavy bullets 39gr to 50gr. Who do you think makes the best .204 upper?

Chuck

Chuck, Robert Whitley makes the best uppers that I have seen but I don't know if he would make that caliber. His web-site is 6mmAR.com Bill

chuck, mine,.204)is not an ar but the 1/9 twist shoots 50 grain bergers into 1-1/4" at 300 yrds it is a hart and does not copper foul for 60+ shots. H 4895 24 grs seated .010 into the lands. hope this helps,____treeman

I am working with the moderator of this site right now making some 20 cal uppers in 20 Practical,.223 necked down to 20 cal). It's a great 20 cal cartridge because if you already have .223 brass and a Redding Type S FL bushing die and a .223 seater, you need only buy about $25 worth of stuff in addition to your upper and you're in business. The 20 Practical will do everything a 204 Ruger will do.

For a guy that already has .223 stuff, the 20 Practical is easy to do and easy on the pocketbook.
