Nesika Actions

I don't see Nesikas listed in the Custom Action section and was wondering if they are no longer one of the top choices for a custom action. I have a Nesika K action from a couple years ago and it is a great action.Looking to get another custom action and didn't know whether to go with another Nesika or a Bat.Any opinions?

Nesika made some great actions. The problem is that the parent company, Dakota Arms, is in bankruptcy re-organization, and we were reluctant to do a full report, not knowing how long Nesikas will remain in production, or what kind of customer support could be offered down the road. Please note, we have NOT heard a single complaint regarding Nesika's connection with Dakota Arms, but we would like to wait until Dakota's business situation stabilizes.

I hope the two orginal owners buy it back. Dakota could care less about Nesika. I went to the factory over the summer. I was pissed they didnt give me a tour. They have branched out way too much over the past few yrs. Should have just stuck to custom rifles.

In most Benchrest shooting, the Nesika actions are too heavy to allow a varmint contour barrel and make weight. This is the main reason you don't see them showing up in BR equyipment lists.

I've built three guns aroind Nesika actions and they are simply superb.

I believe Jim Bordens action is very similar,if not the same) as the Nesika............www.bordenrifles.com

I thought I would post this for anyone that is interested in a Nesika action.I talked to Richard at Nesika and told him that I was interested in another Nesika action but was concerned about their future being in bankruptcy protection and if the actions were still being made the same as they were before. He assured me that the actions were still made with the same quality and that they have been out of bankruptcy protection since Feb. He said that the new management was very knowledgable about manufacturing and that they were set up to run and deliver a quality action in 2 months.I was a little skeptical since my last Nesika took 5 months but I odered one on 9-19-07 and I picked it up today at my FFL. The action looks great.

I bought my Nesika K in 1999 and had Randy Gregory at Accuracy Unlimited build a Palma rifle around it. Have never had a reason to regret the purchase - it shoots great.

However, I'd heard so many good things about BAT that I decided to try one of their 3L actions. UPS dropped it off today, and after looking it over and playing with it this evening, I'm really looking forward to the day when the brown truck brings the Krieger hvy. Palma bbls. I ordered for it. They were ordered about a week after the action, so should be here soon. The UPS guy also dropped off a new Leupold 6.5-20x50 LR scope for it, and a Jewell HVR is on the way, along with some more 6.5x47 Lapua brass, so it's time to get all the other barreling jobs finished & out the door so I can enjoy devoting myself to fitting & chambering the Kriegers when they arrive. I think I'm gonna like this action....

I bought a Neskia K about 5 years ago; had one problem with it, rear of cocking piece galled and smith just turned it down slightly. Right now, it has a 20" Bartlien HV on it with NF 12-42 and weighs 11.3 lbs. Check with Bruno's - he did have Nesika actions in stock a while back. The Nesika bolt is like Borden's - both have the bumps. I believe this is unique to all other BR actions.
