Needing 17/223AI loads with 30 grain bullets

I just had a 17–223 AI built and I have some 30 grain bullets and I’m looking to see what loads are working for everyone running this caliber.

I tried Big Game but had terrible results. Settled with Benchmark. This is out of an AR @ 4000fps, Chan Nagel 30gr.

How many gr over a 17 rem does your case hold??

I figured this out on MY wildcat- to be 1.6gr over a standard 20vt.. then started from there..

I'm shooting a wildcat based on a 223 case, near identical to a 17 Predator. I am shooting 27gr Big Game for 3920fps and I have used n550, 26.5 grains. This with the old berger 30gr hpbt that was very close to the 30gr Kindler Gold.

I think Varget, RL 15, vv140, n540, n550 w, RL 17 would work. I opt for slower powders and good case fill.

what grains worked for you?
Start with 21.0.
Your pretty vague on what platform this is.
Your twist OK with the 30’s?
It’s a wildcat, do some extrapolations on 17 Remington data.
I suggest Remington 71/2’s or 450’s, don’t use a soft primer what ever you do.

Thanks. It’s built on a savage axis. I also have quite a few other 17’s. It is a 9 twist. It should handle the 30’s well. I was planning on 450’s. But could use 7.5’s as well.
