Need your help on the 22 Dasher

Need your help justifing a 22 Dasher. This would be a P-dog rifle. I have a desire for something between my 20 BR and my 6mm BR and I already have a 22-250 but it's a 1st year production Ruger No.1 that I had factory reblued and better wood put on it. Don't really shoot it that much anymore. Come on guys, convince me that I have to have this Dasher. I have a Rem. 700 donor action in 308 that is begging for a ground off restoration. Can't seem to find much info on the Dasher but it has a really big coooool factor that's hard to ignore.

Whatch wanna know?

I've got several. Two set up as dedicated coyote rifles.
40 grainers going 4200. Only 2 exits in almost 40 yotes, both due to shot placement. One's brown camo, the other, white camo.

I've wore out a couple dedicated praire dog barrels. The last one was seriously abused in the dog towns and was history in 1900 rounds. It didn't just lose it's accuracy, it lost the rifling, clean to the muzzle. Even wet towells were steaming. Last day, no wind, I couldn't help myself.

If your looking to stay with the cool factor, I'd do a 14 twist 6 Dasher for the 55 thru 70 grainers. A 6mm just hits 'em harder and throws 'em further. 55's going 4000 is hard to ignore. I believe the barrel life on the 6 is better as well.
Three of my 700's are now 6mm Dashers.

If you wanna stay with the 22's, I'd probably do a 22 BR instead. Better barrel life as well as 22-250 velocities in a more efficient package. Almost as cool.

If you just gotta have a 22 Dasher, I'll make you a deal on a 700 fire-form barrel.

They're all fun.

Thanks for your reply Al. I do have some questions. Is the Dasher performance over the 22 BR worth the trouble? I've a volocity nut and normally don't shoot fast repeats. Normally try to keep the barrel cool enough to touch. Would think that the Dasher would be easier on a barrel than the 22-250 because it burns less powder, but then again I've never had one. What type of speeds are you getting from the 40 and 50 grain bullets?
Is there any loading data that is available anywhere? It's hard to do any comparisions with no numbers.
