need winchester Model 70 bolt

Anyone know how or where to get replacement model 70 bolt?
Winchester says this is part not availible for sale.
Rebarreling a model 70 stealth II from 243 wssm to 6.5 284, have the barrel coming, need the smaller bolt face.

Yeah, my problem is that the idea of using the short action bolt will not work. I had not intended to use the magazine, and the round and brass goes in & out of the smaller port well enough to use as a single shot,1000 yard gun). I just have to figure out if it's feasible to modify the wssm bolt face and extractor to work properly.

You may be able to shorten a long action bolt, it would require alot of work but it can be done, probably alot cheaper to sell that action and buy a Lawton rather than buy the bolt have the work done then fited to your action, it''l liklely cost a couple hundred dollars to buy a bolt and have it cut down and fitted.

But then again if your using it as a single shot you could always chamber for a regular WSM case, it may require removing the bolt to extract a live round but how often you do that?

I had a friend now, rest his soul) that had a 7mm-300wby improved built on a short action rem 700. It was a super accurate gun to

Yeah, I think shortening a bolt with the proper face would be easier than modifying the correct bolt length that has to big a face. The problem is Winchester doesn't want to sell me the bolt, long or short. I have heard the Browning A bolt may work, and they are available, but I have not confirmed that. I can do the mods myself and this would convert a rifle I like and don't shoot because of the cartridge to a rifle I could use in 1000 yard matches. It's always something

Thanks for the tips & ideas guys. I'm going to look into both, finding another bolt, and, or, converting to a 6.5 WSSM. I need to consult with a experienced wildcat builder for recommendations.

Numrich has bolts,I have bought several over the last couple years, was finding them on E-aby for a while but they all seemed to sell for $200+ each, I got both mine from Numrich for under $150,and they were NEW !!
