need to pull bullets - resize necks before reloading?

I need to pull some hunting loads from last season (components scarce, so can't be wasting them haha).
Question is, when pulling bullets, do you resize the necks and run through a mandrel again to get correct neck tension, or just reload after pulling?

Im doing the same lately and like Bill says Im running them back through the sizing die or id say what ever process you use to size fired brass for them.

Makes sense and I do it because it's easy and certain, but has anybody done the measurements or shot the groups?

I suspect spring back is pretty close to normal tension anyways, in which case resizing wouldn't be necessary.

Definitely resize! I had to do it on some test loads. I use a bushing die. When I resized, I only did 90% of the neck and stayed away from the shoulder.

For an average hunting rifle I doubt you could tell the difference If you just reloaded the cases as-is. But your own confidence & peace of mind is in doubt so it won't hurt to neck size.

I have only done this once, so it's a small sample . I pulled some 69 SMKs I had loaded for my Son's match ,I used the wrong powder on 50 of the 100 I had loaded . I figured he could use those for foulers with the same powder. Turned out he used the foulers by mistake for record . He one that match on a tie breaker counting Xs . Like I said, very small sample .

NO
The past seating expanded necks already. If you size again, the next seated bullets will just do the same.
So your necks are already right for seating different bullets.

Interference and seating force does not equal neck tension.

I’m confused why are you dismantling rounds already loaded? Is it because you need bullets for a different cartridge? Example you have 308 loaded but you need some 300 WinMag type of thing ?

I use to pull bullets from military .223 and sell a e with 50 Sierra s to shoot off hand and running deer matches. It grouped .5 of better at 100yds. Never resized a neck, pulled them in the press with side cutters. The ammo shot as it was shot 2 to 3 inch groups.
