need to know how high my scope is

I am trying to use a ballistic program and it asks me how high my scope is but I am not sure where measure so I can put the info for if somebody could give a idea how to find this out I would be greatful

meatbal6,

Place a cleaning rod in the bore, into port. Measure from the center of the rod to the center of the scope.

This is how I do it. I use a dial caliper to measure the diameter of the objective end of the scope, at its very end. Then, I measure the diameter of the barrel directly below the end of the scope. I then use the back of the caliper like a depth mic. to measure from the top of the end of the objective of the scope, to the top of the barrel directly below, to that I add half the diameter of the barrel, and subtract half the diameter of the scope, and that gives me the exact scope height, which is a function of what rings that I have mounted. As long as I keep the same rings and bases on the same rifle the measurement will not change.

I use a similar approach but I take 1/2 the bolt diameter + 1/2 the scope mid tube above it then add the distance beteeen them ...
