need some help with 22br

hi everyone, im new to this forum and i think its great.! i just got a 22br and im a little stumped on some neck problems, my chamber is a 252 neck and my loaded rounds are 250, this shuld be ok but when they come out of the gun fired they measure 250. with my 6br at a 270 chamber neck they go in at 268 and come out at 270. with the 22br im not having to even neck size the case after fireing. i took 5 cases and neck turned them down to .011 wall thickness and now there going in loaded at 246 and coming out fired at 246, and still dont need to necked sized to hold a bullet. am i doing somthing wrong? thanks for any help

How sure are that the .252 neck is EXACTLY that ?????
If a bullet will not slip back into a fired case your not cutting the necks small enough, or they have hardened to the point they don't expand like they should..
Try it with brand new brass and see what happens then...

thanks preacher, im pretty sure about the neck size i poored a chamber mold and thats what i came up with, but its not stamped on the barrel. i loaded up some more at max charge via hodgens website and the cases came out at 247, so maybe i was not hot enuff? and you mite be dead on about the cases being to hard, i will try some new ones to. thanks

i have shot a few loads so far, all with varget, 30grs to 33grs with a 40gr, v max. i have just shot sum 55gr midway dogtown bullets with varget 30grs to 32grs still doing same has before. i started with virgin 6 br lapua brass full length sized in my redding die. i have 6 firings on cases now. groups so far have ben awfull, .8 and bigger!

Interesting - I have a .243 that does the same thing.
I use reformed .308 nickel that are turned and nk annealed
it also happens with virgin and once fired Lapua and FF brass
Chamber neck is .275 - loaded rds are at .2725 up at the mouth
and are .271ish behind the base of the bullet - not much in the
neck as the throat is kinda um gone.
I only use about .001 grip - could the small amount of grip have
an effect? Or small amount of shank in neck?
Don't matter to me as the ol'Kreiger still is a 1/2min or less tube.
Loaded with Wilson dies and show no psi

Try a higher bullet pull maybe 3 or 4 thou?
I'll be checking the bullet shank deal next week as I'm going up
to 85gr's to chase the throat - was shooting 65BT Bergers.

trade count, i see what you sayen. i did 5 new brass took them to .011 necked them down to .245, loaded the 55gr bullets and there comen out at about 247 now so maybe there aint enuff presure to blow em out to .252. still not grouping either so i dont think this gun likes varget, im gona havta try something else. or maybe increase the charge of varget,, thanks for the help
