Need some advice on 2 rifles I was looking at

What’s it for? Ruger precision would probably serve your purpose just as well and you’d have 1k to save and spend on ammo or a better scope.

I looked at the PVA and it's a great price, but the website says "We are no longer taking pre-orders until the current orders have been fulfilled".

Stay away from PVA.
Badrock is Defiance. They are great people, not sure about lead times, but deal with confidence

The John Hancock uses an ARC Nucleus action and a PVA barrel made from a Rock Creek button rifled blank. To round it out, a Timney trigger and a KRG Bravo chassis/stock.

It's all good stuff and designed to compete in some type of PRS limited class I think.

The bad thing was they had some issues delivering rifles for various reasons, with large demand being one of the biggest issues.

Once the issues have been sorted out, it's still going to be a good value.

I might go a different way if I didn't like the feel of the KRG Bravo and had to choose a rifle with a different chassis to compete in that series.

One other thing, the John Hancock is in an entirely different class than an RPR. Lots of people buy RPRs and then start changing everything to make it better. People buying a John Hancock are buying it to leave it alone.

Badrock, or MPA. They are equal. MPA uses a 3-lug Curtis Axiom action with a plunger ejector and blade extractor. Badrock is fixed ejector, and more like a controlled-round extractor. Also consider a Bighorn Origin build: action for $825, barrel of the Savage style with nut and recoil lug for $550; KRG Bravo stock for $350 (this stock does not require bedding, and is rock solid), and trigger of choice (I'd go with Jewell target trigger with top safety and no bolt release, since Bighorn has side bolt release - check with Bighorn to make sure this is correct) for $220, for a total of $1,950 or so, plus incidentals, such as action transfer fee to your FFL dealer, shipping, and a scope rail. I recommend an extended picatinny scope rail, since most people mount their scope too far back for flexibility in position shooting (especially for sitting or prone). This would at least provide the option for more forward mounting. Of course, if you go that route, you need an action wrench for use inside the bolt raceway, a Savage nut wrench, and barrel vise (Viper without any coating is my choice), along with Go/No-Go gauges for your caliber. But then you're fixed for life.
