need reloading information

Hello,
I have a Thompson center prohunter with a 28" ss barel in 270win.
140 grain accubonds by nosler
cci primers
silver cases from winchester silver ballistic tips
IMR 4064 powder
Is this powder good for this bullet, I have had good success in past using this powder and bullet combination in a savage M110 but not in the current firearm, do I need to change anything because Im changing to a better rifle?

I don't know about you but when I upgrade my rifle,in this case from a Ruger M77V to a Remington 40XB Rangemaster) I start all over with load development!

You really should start from scratch with any new barrel.
I've had the best of luck with H-4831 and the 140-150 grain bullets..
4064 should work if thats all you have.....

This ?? is a blast from the past....when I was a kid...50's...my neighbor had a M-70/.270 and he used 4064,,just went to reloading manual and used 1 gr. less than max.))and Sierra 130's ...and killed deer by the trukload...I remember that evrybody was a tellin him 4831..4831...4831...till they were blue in the face....well down at the local shootin range he would put on a lil show for the experts...there were NONE of em with their secret "PET" loads that culd hold a candle to his "ole betsy" ...and we shot clear out to 300yds ther...he would routinely shoot 1"+ groups at 300 ....when shooting against other "deer" rifles he was tough to beat...,,maby it was the fact that he was a whale of a shot.!!))...sooo as stated earlier...if I was goin to the store and buy a pound of powder for a .270 it wuld be 4831 ...but dont throw away a can of 4064 either...Roger
