Need reloading data for 6.5x61 S&H aks 6.5x61 Super

My grandfather just gave me a custom built 6.5x61 S&H on a Mauser action and I cannot find any reloading data what-so-ever. I have dies and enough 7x61 S&H brass for my life but dont know where to start. Any help would be great. Also looking for a good bullet to start with.

Found some info on the 6.5X61 Sharpe and Hart in The Handloader's Manual of Cartridge Conversions by John J. Donnelly. Cartridge is also known as the .264X61 Shannon. Case capacity is 79.67 gr. water versus 81.51 gr. for the .264 Winchester Magnum. The 6.5X61 S&H case length is 2.50 inches. The only load data given is for a 140 gr. spire point bullet using 63.9 gr. of Norma MRP powder. No velocity data was given. The length of the loaded round is 3.325 inches. If you PM me your email address, I can scan the page and send it to you.

Thanks a bunch for all the help! I got some of the 7x61 S&H brass resized tonight and noticed that even after FL sizing, the case .030-.070 short of the case length that it states in the Ackley Vol. 2 on page 163. It is saying the case length should be 2.500 but all my cases range from 2.430- 2.470 after resizing. Will I get the extra length after loading and shooting them? I haven't loaded much wildcat stuff so any info will be a huge help

What are you going to use the rifle for, punch paper, hunt, long range iron....? What is the length of case before sizing?

I will get a case length before sizing tomorrow when I get home and it will be a hunting rifle but i would like to get it shooting at least 3/4 MOA if possible. Here are some pictures of the rifle i finally got taken.

This is pretty dang cool but I just recieved my Grandpa's relaoding research and data for the rifle he gave me. Has about 15 different loads, all with velocities, pressure notes, group sizes. Talk about a cool gift! Gave me everything I needed to start doing my own loads for it. He had 4 loads with 1/2 MOA groups or less. Kind of crazy with this wood stocked hunting rifle built in the 70's on a Mauser action. All of his loads were with H4831 with Hornady 100gr or Sierra 129gr projectiles and I was wondering if I can sub IMR4831 or H4831sc in its place and start a grain or 2 low and work to his measurements.
