need recommendations for 6mm AI dies

Hi
Thanks in advance
Getting a 6mm barrel re chambered to 6mm AI. I am needing a set of dies.
Don't break my bank but what are/is a good set.
Non competition gun by the way it is just a fun long ranger/ varmiter. Going to shoot 95-100g+ bullets.
Thanks

Probably forester or redding standard dies.Occasionally lee has some of the ackley dies.I would call them for a part number. Once oyu get the number have your favorite gun store order them.

The standard Lee 6mm collet sizing die works well for the 6AI and is all you need between occasional full length resizing.

For your purposes and not needing 100% total precision, I would go with this 3 die set from Redding: http://www.midwayusa.com/viewProduct/default.aspx?productNumber=103473

This will do everything you need. This set not in stock, but i am sure someone has them out there.

Thanks. How many firings before the fl sizing?

Depends on your chamber, but a good rule of thumb to follow is how hard they chamber after a couple firings and neck sizing only. Your rifle will tell you.

My experience is that the 107SMK doesn't shoot the best over 3150-3200 fps. You can go faster. With a mild load of RE-22 and a 107SMK I can go 5-6 firings with neck sizing only. I run the 95 VLDs much faster but still get at least 4 firings but I bump the shoulder back with the FL S-type sizing. The is the great thing about the Ackley case design. I have the same experience with my 22-250AI.

Usually 3 or so. Depends on load, I like the speed but try to not ruin brass.
I also load a reduced load for fun and close in shots. Those seem to barely ever need
FL resizing.

rover31,
Welcome to the forum. Since I started competing I have stopped neck sizing and always fl size that way things are always consistent. I have a 6 AI and I have many, many reloadings on my brass, I don't compete with this gun but I don't like surprises like a hard chambering round on a 600 yd ground hog ??? however if you are going to neck size then Frank has steered you in the right direction with the three die set.

Tim, my rifles groups opened up when I leaned on it with 107's as well. I back down on the charge of RL-22 and they are very accurate. But my go to bullet is the Lapua Scenar 105 now, they like to be zipped at least in my 6AI. The 107's like that certain speed node.
