need powder suggestion for 6br snd 90gr berger

i have been using n540 with a 90gr berger in my br but im almost out, and havent been able to find the n540. what other powder will work?

How 'bout Varget ?

+1 on Varget. RL 15, H4895, N135 or N140. All of these will fit the bill

I like H414 better than anything else.

I would use Varget or VV N140. However they are single base powders, while N540 is a double base with nitro. So they will not give you quite the velocity as N540, but barrel life should be better.

All those ought to work as suggested; Varget's kind of the de facto standard for 6BR.

A new product you might want to try is IMR 8208XBR. Less $$ than the VV products & seems to be widely available now.

i have tried n135 with not so good results with the 90gr. i pick up some if the 8028 but havent tried it yet.
whats the suggested load for the varget with the 90gr?

Looks like about 31.0 grains of Varget, I have no personal experience w/the 90 grainers and varget, but here is a link from 6br hope it helps.
