need new optics

I am having a m700 built in 6BR, the action trued, bartlein 1-13.5 twist, skim bedded in a B&C A5 stock with cdi bottom metal and AI mags. The mags feed 6BRs awesome into the original 308 chamber. I will be using this rifle for local 100 and 200 yd matches and some occasional yote/varmint work. I am looking at kepping the price of optics under 1000.00. Maximum distance will be 4-500yds with the 66-70gr bullets I hope it likes. I want/need variable, I was set on a weaver36x till I looked through it and it was dark and so-so resolution. So now I am thinking about a sightron s3 8-32 with a 1/8 dot or maybe a vx3 LR 8-25 with target dot/ fine crosshair. I like the 32x topend and am not losing anything on the bottom with the s3. How does glass compare to the vx3lr? I have several 6.5-20LR and like them quite abit. Is there any scopes in this price range that will run with my choices or be better? I am looking for real world comparisons between the S3 and the vx3lr. How are the clicks on the s3 reasonably crisp and and audible? Best scope knobs I have felt are IOR 35mm tact. and a bushnell 4200 tactical. Thanks for the insight.

The 32x Sightron beats the 25x leup in every way...you won't be disappointed.

Awesome, plus it's 200 bucks cheaper then the loopy. Where is the best/cheapest place to pick up a S3? SWFA? Is the 10-50 S3 overkill for what I want or is it not quite as good as the 8-32x?

Get the 10-50, you shouldn't be disapointed....plus they are on sale at SWFA for $799.95.

sample list has a couple at that price. How is the turret feel on the 10-50 compared to the 8-32? I was thinking on an early topic in this forum that some people said the 8-32 and more positive clicks then the 10-50, true or false? If true was this earlier versions of the 10-50 or what?
