Need load data for Sierra GameKing (#1365) 55 gr for .223 Rem

Hello. I am shooting a .Barret REC7 w/ a Wilson Combat 18" chambered in .223 Wylde (1-8 twist) and am having trouble finding load data for 55 gr Sierra GameKing bullets (#1365). I have available Varget, Tac, BL(C)2, CFE 223 and a few other powders. I am looking for something to knock coyotes down at ranges out to no more than 200 yards. Someone recently gave me 1000 of the GameKing so I guess I need to shoot them. Thanks in advance for your help. -Robert

I used 25.8grs of H4895, but you might have a hard time finding it. IMR 8208 and AR Comp, Benchmark, N133 or N135 will all be useful powders for it. Be certain to check Sierra's OAL for loading it. At 2.260 you will be jammed hard, then again maybe not in that Wylde chamber.

Look at the Sierra Reloading Manual page 218 of the 5th addition.
OR
Look at the Sierra Reloading Manual page 196 of the 6th addition.

Those are somewhat slow burn powders for your bullet. I've always just worked off of 55 gr FMJ data to get started. Benchmark, H322, XBR, etc. make great ammo.

H335 if you like ball and don't mind high flash.

Just a note on my experience with 55 grain bullets, albeit, Nosler BT's, in 8" 223 bolt rifles.

While I got 55's to group adequate enough for predator hunting, I found that the best results (accuracy wise) were at the lower end of the charge weights, i.e., lower velocity levels. I am only speculating but perhaps this is due to the fast twist. However, every rifle can be different so yours and other's results may differ from mine.

PS: The 60 Vmax's shoot in the 1/2 moa range with my Tikka's (8" twist) and are a real hammer on predators.

I have a particular barrel in 1-9" twist that shoots best at starting loads. It is more of a powder issue - as once I get it to uncomfortably high velocity, it starts coming into the node again. I have a bunch of surplus powder I run in that rifle where the high velocity is not needed - and accuracy is stellar. I could change powders - but want to run through what I have....

I shoot that projectile with ADI brass and rws primers as a nice, cheap, chill fire forming load for my 223ai match loads. 26gr of adi2208 (varget). Bloody precise load out of my rifle at about 3200fps out of a 26" barrel and does great work with red foxes at similar ranges to boot.

Edit: I load these at a coal of 2.25
