Need help choosing a new stock

Hi guys I’m building a new LG and I’m needing a stock that’s going to have to weight under 2 1/2lbs for the action I’m using. Reason being I’m wanting to use a 1.250 dia barrel and I need to make weight for 17# class.
My 2 choice so far are the TM stocks or the Kelbly 1K stock. The latter will be too heavy so I’d have to see if they can make it with a foam fill to lighten it. Third choice and it’s too heavy but I’m also going to see if McMillan can do the MBR stock lighter as well.
I want to stay with 3” forearm because I don’t want to change bags from light to HG and I don’t know if I can even get a JJ top anymore since he passed.
anyways I’m seeking advice from those of you who’s used and completed with the TM stock and the Kelbly 1K stock in IBS, what were your thoughts and impressions on either?
Thanks in advance

I would bet if you got Mcmillan to make an MBR in Carbon fiber, no finish, promise them you wont care what it looks like, or let them paint it, and you got foam in the forend and butt stock you could get close. The molded in finish (gel coat) is suprising heavy. About as light as I can get the LRB is 3.5lb but its got aluminum rails, rudder, and butt plate. But I have built them with 1.250 straight barrels, you just need to run a light scope. Even if you got a 3lb stock I think you would be fine. The TMBR is a good stock, but its a short range design and I think you will really notice that. Kelblys could probably do it on theirs if you ask for foam fill, but last I heard they only want to make stocks with inlets for their actions so you may want to check with them on that.

I had already contacted McMillan on a MBR and they couldn’t get it as light as I’m told I needed.
I went ahead and ordered the TMBR from Tom so I’ll run with that for now. I may do something later down the road with a different stock and maybe a Speedy contour barrel instead of a 1.250.

I have gone through a few long range stocks looking for one that would meet that 17 lb limit.

My requirements were;

Adjustable tracking, crosshair stays on the X
4” wide forend for torque control
Carbon fiber structure for weight control

The only stock to meet this criteria was the wheeler stock. My stock was setup with a Bat 3-lug for speed, barrel is 1.25” for 10” then step down/taper to .875” at 28”, typical B&A trigger, topped with a nightforce scope, and yes 6brai..

This gun tracks perfect, I can run 10 shot strings and 80% of the time never touch the controls..

The heat is mitigated with the heavy barrel, and does not exhibit the vertical encurred with 1.25 straight barrels. With my barrel contour I can still add weight to the rear butt stock weight chamber for better balance.

I am not looking for another long range stock as this selection meets my need.
