need gas port size suggestions for 6.5-221 fireball (update)

Hello,
Trying to get a ballpark on size of gas port to drill on a 6.5-221 fireball wildcat ar15 barrel. I plan on starting low and creeping up but figured I would ask the forum. Its a 20" mid length setup. Thanks, Matt

Matt I believe the standard is right in the .093 range. I just did a 20 pratical for a friend and that's what I drilled it. So far it's been great. You also could drill it larger and use a adjustable gas block.

Well we finally got everything chambered and test fired. Then drilled the port. Started at 88k and it ejected but didn't lock back. kept moving up slowly getting better and better and it finally started acting correctly and cycling at .093" It runs fine now and works with several loads we have tried in it. Thanks, Matt
