Need advice

I have a SA Rem 700 that I am going to rebarrel. I have decided to rebarrelusing a Douglas barrel #5 contour chambered in 20 Tactical. What I heed help in deciding is barrel length and twist. I plan to use rifle as a walking varminter. Barrel will be fluted to reduce weight and aid cooling. Thanks for your reply and assistance.

the twist depends on what bullet weight you are going to shoot. some other factor are how far you think you might be shooting and what velocity you would like with your bullet weight

if you look on this site under the .20 section--it says that a 12" should stabalize anything up to 40 grains. 10-11" twist is for heavier and a 9" is for the Berger 50s. as for barrel length, i would go anywhere from 20-24 inches. 20 wont lose too much velocity and 24 with get you velocity without being overly heavy.
