Need a suitable squeeze bottle to contain my rifle bore cleaner

I use Shooter's Choice and it seems to clean my rifle bore well. I pour it from the large commercial bottle into a smaller squeeze bottle - I think its polyethylene or something like that - that keep in my cleaning kit and take to the range. However, after some weeks in the squeeze bottle, the cleaning fluid becomes thicker and viscous. I think it is reacting with the squeeze bottle somehow. Is there another more reaction resistant squeeze bottle that you all might be using that will not cause this problem. Havn't found one in my search of the usual online retailers.

You need to get solvent proof bottles. Montana Extereme 50 BMG eats through most bottles in time. Most shooting supply places have them. Matt

I go to our local hardware store, appliance repair shop, or to a big box store and I buy Zoom Spout bottles with appliance oil in them. Add the oil to your lawn mower, car, or whatever and use the bottle for the solvent you use. Trim the zoom spout to the desired length. The bonus is that this is cheaper than buying an empty bottle. I like cheap.

Some time back, I picked up a couple of these, in 2 and 4 oz. (shown) sizes. I rinsed out the contents thoroughly and have used the larger one ever since to hold Butch's Bore Shine, in my range kit. As long as I keep the cap screwed down tightly there has never been a leak (but I do keep it in a zip lock bag, just in case) This is more of a pour in the solvent port situation, since the opening is generous, having been designed for light grease, but despite that, it has been the best that I have tried, and the contents have not been changed by the container. The size requires that it be refilled fairly often, and that helps as well. My home supply is in the original glass bottle. If you look around, you can find them for sale individually.

Sinclair has two sizes of solvent resistant squeeze bottles. The same or similar enough might be found elsewhere going for a little less.

Works for me.

Why not get a can of 3 in 1 oil and empty it and pop the lid and fill with solvent or the small 4 ounce marvel mystery oil bottles.

You gotta watch because a lot of those bottles are not solvent proof. Solvents such as Montana Extreme 50 BMG (now called copper killer) softens and eats through most bottles. Matt

Yep, I agree. I have a few of both, they seem to stand up well to punishment and the solvents I favor.

The tall ones may be best bet for the really aggressive products. Strongest I rebottle is Shooters Choice.

One of these will work for you. Just keep it away from the picnic.

For small amounts I use the white eyedrop bottles for contacts and larger amount the slightly bigger ones when I use all the contact solution I have a new bottle works for me

My daughter in law colors her hair using some stuff that she mixes - believe she gets the hair coloring at WalMart. I have my wife "secure" these little brown bottles with the perfect spout and I fill them with Sweets 7.62. They do come with a screw down lid and I have used them for years.

The ear drops to remove water contain alcohol, about 1oz . The bottles have a drop spout and cap and cost about a $1.20 at the local grocery store. They work perfectly for my bore and copper solvents.
