Need a Smith recommendation

Hi Guys,
I have an Anschutz 1727F in 22lr that I would like to rebarrel with a a MW 13 twist. Can anyone who has had experience with a solid smith that is experienced in working with the Annie’s give me a lead? I am shooting PRS comps, and I am looking for a slightly longer barrel with the faster twist. I have the barrel in hand, just need excellent work.

Mark Penrod would be a good choice. Does quite a few Annies and is a top notch gunsmith across the board. He is also a super nice guy who will take the time to make sure you get what you want / need.

Very experienced with Anschutz and well known for his benchrest rifles. You can't do better. He usually returns calls between 11 and 2. That's the best time to catch him around the phone.

Evelio did a silhouette rifle for me a while back. It is an absolute hammer. Highly recommended.

I'll second this choice. Mark has done many Annie's, including some successful position rifles for collegiate shooters who went very far in national tournaments. I have also heard Evelio's name dropped on Annie work for years. Depends on how fast you want the work done.

Wow, that name is a blast from the past. I used to shoot High Power with Evelio in the late '70s and 1980s at Bayou Rifles in Houston. Hope he's doing well.

I agree 100% on Evelio's work. he has done several barrels for me over the years with the most recent already winning a tournament for a Falcon custom. my best shooting Anschutz he did more than 12 years ago.
The best thing about Evelio is that he will voice his experience if you want to do something he has seen not being the best option.

Give Benchmark up in Arlington, Wa a call. They do great work and make barrels. A few of my friends have had work done y them and are very happy. The work was done in a very timely manner and any follow up was done quickly. Not sure if they are Anschutz experts. My other suggestion would be Blagg Rifles in Pendelton, Oregon.
