NEED a sako action wrench

I am building my brother a rifle on a sako AV. I have never built on a sako before so I don't have an action wrench. does someone here have one I can rent? I hate to spend a bunch on this because it is a one off job and I don't fore see ever needing it again.

Go to the parts store and get a 15" adjustable jaw wrench and pad the jaws with something sturdy, like aluminum or brass shim stock.

are you talking about a crescent wrench? do you just epoxy pads on the jaws?

Crescent is a brand name, the adj jaw wrench is what I and most call an adjustable jaw wrench. I use one on the Sako actions and just wrap a pice of emory cloth as a protection against marring, smooth side on action of course, you don't need to attach it.

thanks for the awesome tip. I take it you place the wrench directly behind the recoil lug?
