Need a gunsmith

I recently lost my gunsmith and am looking for someone, somewhere, who can, for starters, screw a pre-fit barrel onto my Model 12 22/250 and install a new Rifle Basix trigger. Shipping is ok but if someone knows of one within about 3 hours of West Central IL that would suit me even more. Thank you.

Easy job. You don't need a gunsmith, just someone with the tools and knowledge. I could easily do it, but I'm in Alabama

True, it IS an easy job, and I assisted on several other barreling projects when my buddy was still in the area. But I no longer have the nut wrench and do not have a vise. Thank you. I will try to find him...

In the long run it is more convenient, and likely more cost effective, to buy the needed tooling and become self sufficient.

I agree with DIY for this small project, but if a gunsmith is needed, @skeetlee comes highly recommended and he’s in Mattoon, IL.

I do not have the time, nor ability, to acquire tools and learn to do this sort of work. I am already old...It was nice when I just went to Buddy's place and worked on these projects together but he moved away and his machines are not up and running now, and he is too busy building his own BR rifles to mess with my cheap coyote gun.

Hey, I just did two of my own and at 80yrs old am a half blind deaf clutz. bought a cheap torque wrench (Harbor Freight Tools) a nut wrench, barrel and recoil lug from Northern Tools(?) and a padded mallot. EasyPasy! 20 min. for this slow poke after watching a Guggled video!
