Necking up 6.5 SAUM

Probably a very newb question, but I’ll ask anyway. Looked at every thread I could find. Can’t find an answer.

Been wanting to have a 300 SAUM built for hunting. I have looked frequently to see if 300 SAUM brass was available for about 6+ months and found nothing.

Can 6.5 SAUM be necked up in small increments with several mandrels? I imagine it would need to be neck turned? Would this create a donut, like when necking 6br up to 30br?

Thanks fellas

While there is a shortage of SAUM brass, there are many other 30 calibre rounds to choose from -why take a difficult option?

Having owned 30 WSM, 30/06 and 308, I can confirm that they are all excellent hunting cartriges.

why does anyone want anything? I can get the velocities I need with less powder and from my reading the SAUM is a little more efficient in a shorter barrel. and i just really like the idea of a SAUM

Thats cool, but they cant even keep up with the demand of the cartridges that they have now. Lapua is great brass. Cant deny that, but if i can get away without using them, i will.
All u need to do is get a box and yr good for your barrel!
