Neck Turning Tool

Sinclair NT 4000/ priemium is another user friendly unit . Detent ball can be removed for finer adjustment if required . All the tools guys have presented will serve you well ! If you are doing any volume of cases I would highly suggest , turning under power ( driver , or lathe set up )

I have just started to turn necks, starting with .223AI and .308. I usually don't like to drop serious coin on something new; and, it's also nice to have a backup later if you upgrade. I just purchased this:

https://www.midwayusa.com/product/5...ase-neck-turner-with-quick-change-case-holder
https://www.midwayusa.com/product/142913/rcbs-hand-held-case-neck-turner-pilot-22-caliber
https://www.midwayusa.com/product/167129/rcbs-hand-held-case-neck-turner-pilot-30-caliber

for a grand total of $77.00 shipped (caught 'em on sale). It gives me a place to start and learn. The nice thing about manual is that when you upgrade the process is better understood.

Probably get flamed for this but I also thought you might like the "entry level" and cheaper option. I literally have never seen turned necks outside of Youtube and am learning the process as I go.

I’ve used a Hart, Sinclair, K&M and pumpkin. Pumpkin hands down of the 4 but since it’s not made anymore I’d recommend the K&M if you only want to buy new. PMA and 21st century look nice but I’ve never used one. You’d probably be happy with any of those.

I understand, the competition can sit idly by an do nothing, right? ;)
I all most pulled the trigger on that one, then read the bad reviews . for now i'll stick with the lyman . I dont use the whole jig . just the cutter head powered by a 1/2 drill . it actually works rather well.
