Neck Turning - HELP

I need to begin neck turning for my 6 Dasher, I have no idea what I am doing.
After advice from other shooters and watching Youtube videos I am confused as hell.
All BS aside, who makes an easy to use accurate turning setup that wont break the bank.
All comments are welcome thanks in advance

I am NOT an expert. However I have the old original Sinclair tool with a Sinclair mandrel die. I am not much of an expert, but Ihave been able to nicley turn 22PPC cases with little learning curve. Takes concentration, but it is ok to do about 20 at a time.

it was the least expensive GOOD tool then available. I like it.

Try the 21th century neck turning lathe, it will be easy to use and easy to adjust

One nice thing about a Dasher is that you can turn past the shoulder neck junction before you fire form. This puts the thickness transition in a less critical spot.

I've been neck turning for many years and I also like the 21st Century tool. You can start out without the motorized part and add that later. The key for me is to turn off small amounts at a time vs. being in a hurry to get it done too fast. Once necks are all turned uniformly and correctly, they will last for many reloadings after, so it's worth taking your time to do it right even though it's somewhat slower.
Best Wishes.

Or you can buy it ready made from Laveritt or P1zombie or whatever the name is as it alludes me right now. It costs 185.00 done and that should wear out your barrel before you run out.

+1. You didn't mention what neck turning tool you are using. But if you are looking to buy one, might I suggest you take a look at the 21st Century Tool. For years I've been using an older Sinclair NT1000 and have also used a friend's NT4000. I wanted a simpler and upgraded Neck Turner so I just bought the 21st Century Tool, that after looking at various nice models on the market. The 21st appears to be is the simplest and easiest one to use when setting the cutter depth.

What convinced you of ‘need’ to begin neck turning for a 6 Dasher?
I had purchased a 6 dasher rifle that came with 100 brass
I have been shooting in local club 600 yard F open events and now that I won the March event (296pts,14X) I want to push up my game and start competing in IBS.
100 brass will not get me thru a 2 day IBS match. So I need more brass

I love my Forester. It's messy, but easy to use. Besides neck turning, I use it for 3 way trimming.

I also have the Sinclair neck trimmers that work good as well. Neither one will send you to the back for financing.
