Neck sizing 270WSM to 7MM WSM using Norma brass

Need a little help from all of you. I read somewhere that folks are using Norma 270 WSM brass and sizing necks up to 7MM WSM, or am I mistaken? Can this be done, how and is it safe? I hope it can because Winchester brass currently is all you can get for 7MM WSM and the quality of Winchester brass leaves a lot to be desired, just my experience. Any experienced help would be greatly appreciated.

The main use for the 270 wsm case in the F Class seen is to neck up the 270 wsm case to 7mm, So you would have a 7/270case NOT a 7mmwsm. The 270 wsm and the 300wsm are the same case size just differing bullet size necks (the 300wsm case is also used necking down to 7/300wsm round same as 7/270wsm).

7mm WSM IS A BIGGER CASE BE CAREFULL NOT TO USE A 7/270 OR 7/300WSM IN A 7MM WSM CHAMBERD GUN.

7MM WSM is a bigger case than the 270 WSM or 300 WSM ??? Will you kindly explain the area in which it is bigger?

Hi Jr...its a complicated answer for an ole' hillbilly like me to answer.....butttt.....the diff he is talking about is miniscule ,wink ....the good folks at Win. stay up nites stewing over legal matters (like the big oil tycoons figgin out how to make more money at the pump$$$) and in their feeble ways they figgerd that it would stop us dummies from puttin a 7mm WSM in a 300 WSM if it headspaced (body length and datum line) a wee bit longer and you culdnt close the bolt on one of em.....and of course you cant ram a 30 cal slug in a 7mm hole so tht took care of the other delima......soooo if you have or want a 7mm WSM (especially a target rifle like on a forum such as this)...then it is possible even desireable, since the ctg overall lengths is the same (+/- a thou. or 2) to make your ctgs outa 300's which are more commonly available from several various mfgs. !!! Hope this un-clouds the water a lil'....Roger

PS..this relates bak to the days when Uncle Willard would cut a chaw off his tobacco plug and spit off the porch and tell of Uncle Ray accidentally shootin a .270 outa his 30-06 and missin the biggest buck in the county....of course this happend up the holler where they had their moonshine operation!!!!.....soo when Rem. invented the .280 they moved the datum line foreward to prevent us wayward hunters from shoooting them in either a .270 or 30-06....the more things change the more they stay the same...ahhhhaa....memories.....
