Fireform with a .224 bullet in the .220 Russian stage, in a 6 ppc, .262 neck bblAre you wanting to fireform with a .224" bullet? I've heard of people doing that.
That will form the case into a 6PPC, ready to neck turn. Just fill the case up with N133 or a similiar powder and use the cheapest 22 bullet you have.Fireform with a .224 bullet in the .220 Russian stage, in a 6 ppc, .262 neck bbl
I guess what I am asking, if I put .248 bushing in a Wilson 6 ppc neck sizer, will the the .220 Russian body be supported enough to take the pressure when I size the neck?
No!Do I have to buy a .220 Russian necksizer and .220 Russian bullet seater?
Really don 't matter that much. You are going to blow the brass out anyway.I guess what I am asking, if I put .248 bushing in a Wilson 6 ppc neck sizer, will the the .220 Russian body be supported enough to take the pressure when I size the neck?
Thanks for heads-up on checking the .220 brass in the the chamber first. I could not close the bolt!If your chamber is at zero headspace, you probably can't close the bolt on a 220 case. Run it in a PPC sizing die until the bolt will close, it'll only take a slight bump. Load it full of N133 or similar, seat a cheap bullet and fire as Jackie says. Have a big backstop, cause that bullet will fly all over the place, but it's the straightest brass you'll get.
