Neck dimensions...

Before I order my reamer for a 30 caliber build I am curious about neck dimensions. I am thinking of turning my necks to 0.012" and with a loaded cartridge this should give me 0.332" at the neck. What is the tightest neck dimension I should order on my reamer to keep from creating pressure in my chamber and give me a even release on my bullets? Thanks for your help...

I am pushing the shoulder back a considerable amount to create my cartridge. So does it make a difference what brand of brass I’m using? The new neck and shoulder will be formed from the body of the brass being used. I’m hoping this cartridge can serve two purposes, club matches and hunting.

What cartridge did you select? And what brass do you plan to use?
Do you know about donuts and how to remove them?
Tight necks are a whole new world.
.333" sounds very close, with little room to spare.

Novice, I never got a chance to select one, back when I first posted this thread, non of the gunsmiths in my area want to re-chamber barrels. I have a 12 twist 7.62x40WT and a 15 twist 30 BR. I was thinking about converting to a 30x47 to shoot either the Sierra 135gr varminter or 165gr GameKing. I am gonna use Lapua brass and I’ve dealt with donuts. I think I’ve found a good gunsmith who willing to work with what I have. He was recommended by a fellow shooter who shoots in the 2 mile game.
