Neck and Full length sizing..

I am thinking about getting a set of Wilson dies for my 6.5x47. I currently am using Forestner Benchrest FL sizing die and seater dies.

If I was to use the Wilson neck die how often would I need to full length size my brass? Is it more accurate to full length size every time or only full length size when the brass gets hard to fit in the chamber?

I just want to see what the best and most accurate process is. If I need to full length size then neck size with Wilson dies I can do that... What is the best process?

If you want 100% consistency, 100% of the time, you need to full length size each and every time... Custom full length sizing dies are a plus....
If you choose to use the Wilson neck die it depends on how hard your running it as far as how long to wait before full length sizing the case again...

Until you understand your reason for making a change, you're better off sticking with what you have and know. Your Forster dies will produce fine results.

Preacher is spot on, I have went both ways with top notch benchrest guns and when you start checking runout custom dies made from the reamer that chambers the rifle are tops. Here again,cry once)

Thanks for the help. I am trying to make my reloads more accurate. So far the forestner dies have done well... I really should not complain but I am trying to get benchrest accuracy with them or that is what I want to get. I am also waiting to try changing the neck tension to see if that yields better results. The only way I know how to do that is by buying some Redding S dies or getting some wilson neck dies and changing out the bushings. I was leaning toward the wilson dies since there seater dies are great and because I hope to build a 6br or 6ppc next and the arbor press and wilson dies will come in handy.

I wish I could get some custom dies built but my barrel came prechambered from Shilen. I would assume the chamber is to spec but don't know. A die that would not resize the body much, bump back the shoulder a little, and could change neck tension would fit the bill.

How about this... Could I full length size with my Forestner dies, then neck size with wilson dies?

J ust one more thing bushing dies are only as good as the bushing and they are not created equal,maybe you could call Shilen and get the print of the reamer used,my theory is this the gun will only shoot as accurate as the ammmo is.However my gunsmith says he has one set of redding dies with bushing that makes excellent ammo.
