ND LR Regional Championship Sept 8/9, 2012

I was just emailing Rod about this.

I wonder if we ( the club) should just put down some concrete at the 1000 yard line since its the farthest berm back? The Fescue ( Sp?) grass is a clumping grass and as soon as it gets dry the soil erodes around the clumps of grass. Its been a pain in the dern butt since day one. Im pretty sure I shot the first round on that range at 1000 yards. The day the impact berm was completed We set up a steel target and shot at it before I finished up welding the target carrier's.... Like your first kiss it was...

I always said if you can shoot well there... you can shoot well anywhere. Dont dispare it is making you a better shooter even if it bruises your internal ego a bit.

Who won the Sling???

RT

Morgen Dietrich (sp) won the sling. Saw his post on FB. Nice scores by all, especially in conditions from what I hear.

Ouuu Ouch!!! yep that first day must have been a real bugger. That place can really hurt a guys feelings sometimes. Brian you need to make some trips downsouth, Oak Ridge TN, Camp Butner NC, Reade Range PA. And you wont have to wear your 5 buckle overshoes and carharts to shoot!!!

It would be fun to shoot at the bigger events, but like alot of us the funding just is not there! We are very lucky to have about 20 local shoots a year and that alone keeps me busy.

I think if they were to run a tractor tiller across the top of the berm to smooth it out, then throw some grass seed on it late this fall it would have a good grass stand early in the spring! Widened out front to back a little bit would not hurt anything either! If the local farmer could run his rock roller over the berm after a rain it would smooth right out!

Congrats Eric...way to represent Team Lefse!! ;D Good to see you and Rod were able to battle through what must have been some stout winds. Sounds like a few days I have seen in p-dog towns in SD.

I'm looking forward to shooting with you next year at some of the ranges around the area we live. New rifle is being built right now and should be done around Christmas. Hopefully the correct stock for f-class will improve scores along with understanding a little more. Hope to catch you in DL on one of my trips through.
