ND Fishing/PD Combo

Fished Lake Oahe and shot the northern edge of the Standing Rock Indian Reservation between Breien and Shields 5/24-5/28. My dad and I use terrain vice benches. Pollen was killing me out there you could see the clouds of it every time the wind blew. Still got a little bit of cactus in my rump though.

Real tough to beat a combo trip like that. Heard it's got a good smallmouth population as well as walleyes. Sounds like a good time.

First time on the lake we limited out on walleye in about 2 hours. Also caught 3 northern totaling about 40 pounds, white bass, a cat fish, and a 15 or so pound carp. It was a very special trip.

Tell us about the rifle/ammo you were using?

That's a Shilen DGR in 20 VT with select match barrel. LC/18.5 H4198/32 Vmax @ 3675. Weaver Grand Slam 4-16x44 Varmint EBX Reticle held down by Mark IV rings on pic rail. Bell and Carlson Tactical Varmint with Hook. The hook is really nice for shooting off the bipod with no rear bag. Shoots a 20 shot group into about .25"

My other rifle, not pictured. Is a 17 FB, Rem 700 SPS. It'll rust in the sunshine but it's a shooter.

My dad uses .223, Older rem 700 Varmint with the HS precision stocks. Got three of those with over 10,000 rounds on each barrel (light loads). One lost it's accuracy this trip so it may be a future 20 caliber. He also uses an AR which is quite accurate. All of those wear Bushnell Elite 6-24x40 scopes.
