NcStar Scopes

Hey guys I know that cheap can cost you high in the end result of things. But I would like to get some feedback on the NcStar scopes. Have anyone used them? Do they hold up?

NcStar?

Run quickly in the opposite direction. As quickly as you can.

haha, I got an ncstar scope for just a little over nothing. I bought it to play around with, and also like that I could show people what a mildot reticle looked like without trying to explain it forever.

the scope lasted for about 7 rounds. just enough to get the rifle zeroed. it was just enough to get one good 3 round group. then it started jumping all over the place. it would jump about 1 moa after each shot. I thought it was kinda funny.

to be fair I had put it on my varmint rifle which has a muzzle brake on it and is nicknamed the scope slayer. lol

Donovan,

I frequently volunteer as a range officer at our club range, especially on new member orientation days and at our free hunter sight-in days that we hold right before the big game seasons start.

I've observed that NcStar and some other Chinese knock-off scopes are the ones that fail most frequently. I've seen them lose their ability to adjust w&e, go completely blurry, lose the ability to hold any semblence of a zero, and physically break apart. The worst one that I've ever seen came apart internally. When I looked at it through the objective side I could see pieces of glass floating around inside. And this scope was mounted on a .243! The only positive thing that I can say is that as they break the importers will keep sending you new ones to replace them, but as you're well aware that gets awful old in a hurry. Even the ones that have stayed "functional" have barely repeatable adjustments, glass only a bit better than what's found on the bottom of a Coke bottle, and parallax that is included with the scope at no extra charge ;)

Just a bad deal from the get-go!
