NCAA Rifle Championships

For anyone interested, The NCAA Rifle championships are this week. The 3 Position Smallbore Championship will take place on Friday, March 8 with relays starting at 10:00 and 12:45 followed by the Final at 3:30. The Air Rifle Championship will take place on Saturday, March 9 with relays at 10:15 and 12:15 followed by the Final at 2:30.

I went to the NCAA Site and was listening to the scores the qualifiers were posting.

PEOPLE....our John Hamilton has shot a 586/600. The SEASONED college shooters were at 1179, 1180/1200. Do the math.
HE HAS BEEN AT IT FOR LESS THAN TWO YEARS!!!!
We gonna be hearing about this Lad !!
Mark my words.
Imho, picking up a tenth of a point avg per shot as a JR in HS......ain't no hill for our man. I am stoked.
He is shooting 22 miles up the road Sat week at the American Legion. I'll be there.

Well, When it is all over West Virginia Univ will taking home their record 20th NCAA championship. University of Alaska has 16.
The good college shooters are averaging in the 1185-1195 as a team.

I think it's worth noting that @pfiori 's son shoots for the Air Force Academy. He is a big reason why they are one of the top 4 collegiate teams in the country this year. He's Air Force's top agg'ing shooter and ranks 7th overall in NCAA for aggregate (1174.3), 7th overall smallbore (582.5), and 14th overall air rifle (591.8). An excellent shooter and he's only a freshman!! I look forward to watching the NCAA Championships this weekend as well. Should be a good battle. Good luck to Peter!!

We are going to be at The X Count shooting Indiana State Rifle and pistol association State Championship so I hope they are playing it on TV. Does anyone know the channel.

Go Air Force. That is where John would give his eye teeth to go to college. Maybe if John can keep his smallbore up he will have a chance.
