N570 and the 7mmWSM

Today at the range, I experimented with N570 and 184gr Berger Hybrids . 26" Brux 9"twist—fifty degrees New Bertram brass Fed 215 Magnum match primer.
The starting load was 62.6, 2,658 fps, and it finished out at 66.5grs, 2,776 fps. There were zero pressure signs, tight SD, and 3/4 MOA out of #4 contour bbl.
65.5 grs of H1000, the same bullet, new W-W brass produced 2925fps with slight pressure signs and the same 3/4 MOA 5-shot group.
So far, my rifle likes H1000 and N570.

If your rifle likes the H1000 and performs the same or better than N570, go with it.
H1000 will be easier than N570 on your barrel.

Just some things to consider. N568 has literally half the throat erosion as n570 when compared in my 300 norma improved. However the n570 loads are so accurate, consistent and fast that I don't care as the rifle only gets used for killing stuff. 800-1000 rounds will last a long time. I have other rifles to plink with. Even though Im getting like .010 erosion every 100 rounds I don't have to chase the lands very often. Just had to tweak the seating depth .003-.005 for the first time in .020 erosion.

For the smaller magnums I do prefer h1000 though. I run suppressed in everything which makes it foul out quicker. H1000 is so clean that it can go atleast twice as long between cleanings than if I used n570. Also the smaller magnums Im using don't have the greatest barrel life. For instance my 25 saum I don't think will last more than 800 rounds with h1000 and get peak accuracy. I wouldn't want to cut it shorter by using n570. Those 25 cal 133 elite hunters are absolutely devastating on game. Everything inside 600 has been bang flop except one cow elk that took a step and then fell over. I shot an antelope doe at 960 yds last month w my 25 saum and she only went like 10 yds.

FYI in my 7-300 wsm Im using h1000 as the node was very wide.

Well said I use 570 in 3 rifles and works great. I feel same way about 570

I’d really look at n565 and R26
In my 7 short magnum 28” barrel
180-2950
183-2910
190-2880
All with fantastic brass life.
If you can get get enough N570 in it to get close you’ll probably be happy.

2nd trip to the range, I tested 67grs -69gr producing 2,874 fps with N570 ,with 65.5 grs of H1000 produced 2920 FPS .
I'll experiment with the rest of my N570 in my 257 WBY or 6.5 PRC. Life goes on.

I ran 184sin my 7mm 270 at 3000fps..
No pressure signs.
H1000 but off the top of my head I can't recall the grainage..
65grs comes to mind and a 1 in 9 32 inch 1.250 inch strait profile in an f class rig
