N555 in 6.5 creedmoor

Hi all
I've been using N555 for sometime now and it's really working great low Sds pretty good consistent groups at a lower velocity with a charge 2 gr above max
I've recently bought a borescope and noticed on a clean bore I was getting some debris that looked like powder kernels
Could it be that the N555 is too slow for my particular 6.5 creed
I'm using Lapua brass srp
CCI 450
139 scenars

It could be. It also could be the use of SRP to ignite it.

Like @Fuj I ran into some issues with case capacity. I had tried some Accurate 4350 to compare results with H4350. While the chrono numbers were good, the exterior of the cases were coated with a black substance (soot?) that was almost impossible to remove. So I didn't use it for a while. Then I tried it in my 6.5 PRC. Great results, no black cases. The 2 changes were LRP ignition and much greater case capacity. I haven't gone back to try V-555 with LRP in my CM and probably will not due to the capacity limitation. Now V-555 is one of my favorite powders for my PRC.

I had something similar with N160 in 6XC with small rifle primers. No matter how much additional powder I put in the case, the velocities just didn't climb.
Remington 7 1/2's made it better, but still not good.
H4831SC, and all was happy with any primer at any reasonable temperature.

Large rifle primers, no problem with the N160.

Ignition is NOT binary, and is 'a thing'.

My biggest problem with V-555 was it's case fill bulk. Just too
bulky of a powder in my opinion for a medium case.
Sorry, Gary, but i need you to define "medium case".

The N555 i got off of you has been working great in the 257 Roberts AI and 25-06.
Even tried it in the 280 Rem, 257 WBY Mag & 7mm WBY Mag.

Case capacity is not enough for the 25 WSSM though.

I have noticed it seems to like the middle to upper charge weights.

My definition would be a case having a .473 rim and .308/
7.62 NATO case length......That powder also did not impress
me with my various shortened 284 Winchester wildcats. And
why I sold the bulk of it off to you. I bet that powder would
do well in the Mauser cases with a bit more throat.

It does!!

Got some good loads worked up in the 257 Roberts AI with 115gr Berger VLD and 120gr Partition.

When I tried N555 I found it to be dirty
