That is bad news on RL17. Unfortunately I have about 7#s. I do have a fair amount of N- MRP and some 205 which I might give a try when my H4350 runs out.N205 is next to H4831sc on burn chart. H4831sc is my go to powder for 140 gr bullets.
I tried RL17 for a bit, it would shoot excellent one day and not so good another day, seemed like it would go from mild to wild real fast.
More velocity, consistency, temp stability? Not that there's anything wrong with rl17 but can you get more
17 is hard to get. i have just enough for testing. 8208 gave more speed with the 100 grMore velocity, consistency, temp stability?
Oh, I see what you meant. I already have a large supply. Almost all comments are negative.17 is hard to get. i have just enough for testing. 8208 gave more speed with the 100 gr
RL17 has been my powder of choice for 6.5 Creedmoor from the beginning. I've had great velocity (compared to H4350) and really haven't noticed enough change with temperature to harm accuracy.Has anyone used either of these powders with bullets 140 and up in a 6.5 credmoor? I would be interested in your experience?
Thanks
What weight bullets are you using with the RL17 and velocity compared with H4350?RL17 has been my powder of choice for 6.5 Creedmoor from the beginning. I've had great velocity (compared to H4350) and really haven't noticed enough change with temperature to harm accuracy.
Guess I've been lucky or maybe inattentive but .1mil change at 1k isn't a worry for me when I shoot the Creedmoor.
I usually shoot the 142SMK or 140 Hybrids. What weight bullets are you using with the RL17 and velocity compared with H4350?
Close enough. I might try it out since I have a lot which is not being used for anything.I usually shoot the 142SMK or 140 Hybrids.
Velocity usually just over 2900 with either bullet.
I really will need to look at my data before giving you actual numbers.
