Update,
Got to the range this AM as the wind calmed down.
I picked a charge of 30.0 of N135 infront of the Bart's 68 Avengers and seated them .010 in.
Gave a velocity of 3216 average and a SD of 8.6.
Brass is Lapua with an unknown amount of loadings. I figure at least 20.
I do anneal, trim to legnth and turn the necks just skimming to true up for a consistant neck tension.
I have seen testimony from more than one national shooter saying that new brass shoots best and I do
have two hundred wating to be used.
I shot five, five shot groups after five rounds to foul and warm up the clean barrel.
The largest group was a two hole with one four shot hole in the one's and a flier opening it to a .402.
Three in the two's and one in the three's for an average of .283 for the five groups.
Anyone thinking of a nut barrel should consider one from Brad at Urbanrifleman.
I am sure I will buy my next from him.
Next step will be to push a little bit and see if there is improvment or if the groups fall apart.
