Mystic Precision MPOD Manf by EGW for the US

I am very happy to announce that Evolution Gun Works (EGW) will be manufacturing the Mystic Precision MPOD for the American market using all US sourced parts and labour. This will greatly speed up delivery and shipment. Drop postage costs down too.

They have taken their high level of manf to improve the overall appearance of the MPOD and to add some structural improvements. Very stable with great tracking, it handles the recoil of heavy bullets very well with little to no bounce or hop.

The MPOD is still the lightest F TR suitable bipod at under 13 oz installed

2013 was a great year with the new FTR World Champ using the MPOD to help him take the title. Several NRA FTR records for individual and team also went to MPOD shooters.

A new NRA F Open record was set with an MPOD equipped shooter at the Berger SW.

I really appreciate the positive feedback I have been receiving from shooters around the world. Most reporting improvement in accuracy compared to the other bipods they were previously using.

For 2014, we are working on adding an often requested feature. This is the ability to adjust cant of the rifle while in position. This update will retrofit into all MPODs past and present. We are testing it to ensure that it will continue to give shooters great performance with little increase in weight.

The working prototype adds less then 1oz to the present design. It will likely be around 1 oz with new hardware.

I am presently testing Berger 230gr Hybrids in my new FTR rifle and I am able to see my own impacts at 600m. Tracking continues to be superb even with these heavy bullets.

Please give cody@EGWguns.com a shout or visit EGW's website.

Happy to help with any technical info or with adapting the MPOD to your present rig. info@mysticprecision.com

All the best this shooting season.

There are 2 versions - 2.5 and 3". This is the width of the forend that will fit.

Some are buying the 3" so any typical stock will work. The outside dimensions are the same. Just the notch in the middle.

Some want a close fit appearance to their stock so will choose the size that best fits visually. Has no bearing on the actual function of the MPOD.

The footprint stays inside NRA rules. Lots more info and pics on my website

Look in Rifle Parts, and then Bipods. It is a bit hard to find due to huge number of items EGW offer.

With new US manf, local dealers are welcome so give me a shout if you would like to offer the MPOD to competition and varmint shooters in your area.

Yes, the MPOD can be adapted to work on AR's and other popular rifles. Light, stable, simple to use... will really help varminters hit at LR way better then the common folding bipods.

Jerry,

I recently purchased the 3" model and I'm looking forward to your cant adjustment feature. So far I like the bi-pod, and having the cant adjustment will make this perfect.

Tanner

Tanner, I am very pleased to hear you are enjoying your MPOD. We are working on testing the cant feature and this will take a bit of time.

We want to make sure that when you lock up the MPOD, it continues to be as stable and "rigid" as it is now. All too often, bipods shift during recoil especially when using very heavy bullets. That forces the shooter to readjust their cant to level.

So the feature that helps set up the rifle, plagues the shooter through the relay. The most common feedback I receive is that the MPOD doesn't need any fiddling with during a relay. Once set up, the level doesn't change so shooter just has to re-center on the target and fire again. Fast, and simple.

Most rifles have a bubble level which can help to level the legs during set up. But lots are asking so we will endeavor to make it happen.

Enjoy the MPOD and I hope it ups your game. Assume you have a piece of thick nap carpet under the feet?

Jerry

For F-Class I could live without the tilt feature, and it does great when you set up on one target for multiple shots. Where I would find the tilt feature handy is some of the silhouette field courses I've been shooting, there are multiple targets at different angles and its all timed.

I loaned my Bi-Pod to an F-TR shooter last weekend, he really liked the fact there was no hop and it tracked straight back. I am eager to try this out in an F-Class match for myself, and I'll try using carpet under the skis.

Tanner

Good luck with the match and I am sure it will help with your scores.

Playing with 230's and no issues watching the dust kick up at 600m

We will get a cant feature figured out this summer.

Let us know how you make out in your next F class match.

I was finally able to shoot a mid-range 600 yard match using the MPOD. I was very impressed with the stability and the ability to stay on target. This bipod tracks better than any of the others I've used (Sinclair Gen 2 and 3, Centershot and Duplin). I don't think it really took any longer to get setup initially and it was extremely easy to return to point of aim - basically just a small push forward and it was back on center.

I had previously told Jerry that I thought a cant adjustment would be a good addition, but I'm really not so sure now. As he said they tend to start tilting and need to be adjusted mid-string. With the MPOD, once it was set, it held level with no worries. After shooting two strings with the MPOD, I switched to the Duplin for the final string for comparison. While the scores were similar, the Duplin took more time to return to center after each shot and I had to adjust cant twice during the string despite having it cranked as tight as I could get it to start.

I'm definitely looking forward to using the MPOD more often.

Laura

Laura, I am very happy that the MPOD is working out well for you. Not having to fuss with the bipod during a string was always a goal of mine when the MPOD was designed.

There is enough to worry about.

I will be in touch once I get some testing on the new cant design. It will have to work easily and stay put during a lot of firing before we add it to the MPOD.

Testing will include 230's to ensure heavy bullets will not torque it out of position.

Continued success for your season....

Jerry
