MYSTERY 30.06 LOAD?

I have a factory Savage 30.06.It is going off to be rebarreled in a few weeks, but in the meantime, I am playing with loads.,I have been at this for about 10 months). Anyway, I fired a 3-rd group of 1" using Fed cases, CCI200 primers, 55.9 gr of IMR4350 and Berger 155 VLD's. The rds were loaded barely touching the lands. I very carefully reloaded the same components, and shot a 5-rd group of .664". Wow! I'm there right? Wrong! I then very carefully loaded 15 rds using the same components and the tightest group was like 1.25". All of the above shot at 100 yds in Louisiana where the temp and humidity don't very much in August. Any thoughts or suggestions?

Welcome to the world of ballistic testing, what you are experiencing is not uncommon. Unless you have a good BR stock and rests, reapeatable accuracy can sometimes be elusive.
