So about six months ago my wife left the American Riflemen on my chair and greeted me with 2 words Kuna Matada! Which is her way of saying she wanted a Springfield Kuna. I found a used one that came with a hk 3 lug adapter, 4 mags, and an Sig Romeo dot. This thing rocks! I put a one inch orange dot at 7 yards threw it over my beanbag and it was sending 9mm hand loads of several recipes into it over and over and over. She ran Mozambique drills with it like a pro. We are going to get some paperwork for it to make it a SBR. Then it gets a real stock and a vertical grip. My suppressor was an Octane 45 which I use for my dirty and low pressure stuff. It knocked down the report a decent amount. The only issue was a underpowered cartridge didn’t work the bolt smartly and instead of ejecting it fell into the action.
I found the design of this to be reminiscent of the MP5 with its delayed roller locked bolt and safety selector nomenclature. I also found design elements of the AR rifles, specially the grip and takedown pins. The side folder brace seemed to have been pulled from the AK rifles.
You can actually pull the brace off and use it without it. The brace has 1 sling port and the receiver has two. You can adjust the brace up and down on a 1913 rail. Without the brace or folded up you could put it in a backpack, under a car sear, or in a Harley saddlebag. I once saw a competitor use this in the PCC division of USPSA in our local match.
You should check it out!
