My solution to short neck short mag.

What I did was have Dave Kiff at PTG build me a reamer that uses a 300wsm Norma case that is full length resized in a 7mm SAUM die to push the sholder back and leave a longer neck and get quality brass. I will down load pics later.

I did the same thing, but put a 40 degree shoulder. I use it in my 1K LG & HG. I had to buy custom dies.

Are you still going to put pics up. That sounds like and interesting round. Do you have any ballistic data yet?

I like what you did.

FWIW, Norma now makes 300 Rem SAUM brass. It is hard to find and not listed on Norma's website, but Grafs has some.

Thats a better price than most places have on the Nosler saum brass.
Yes but Nosler is worth the extra money.
I have tried Nosler, Norma, and Rem. and in my opinion I can justify spending the extra in price on Nosler over Norma better than Norma over Rem.
[edit],that is in the case of the 7mm SAUM anyway).

Well, tried to post and can't do it. Here is the dimensions.

Length = 2.100
Base diameter = .5420 at shoulder = .5410
Shoulder is a 40 degree
Water capacity with out neck = 77.2
Neck length = .340

With 63 gr RL22 & 162 Hornday, vel = 3234 average
With 60.5 gr T8000,like RL22) & 180 Berger, Vel = 2925 average.
Best group was 62gr of T8000.
This was with my Bat HG. I have my LG,Remington action)also chambered for this cartridge, but do not get the above vel.
