My sad, sad tale.

New to the forum and wanted to share my 'story'. I am an avid handgunner and reloader and have recently started serious rifle work. It started innocently enough with the purchase of a TC Encore frame and a 209x50 muzzleloading barrel for Illinios whitetail hunting. Soon found myself with a .223 barrel, was already loading for a Mini 14) and topped it with a Weaver fixed 6x. Picked up some Sierra Matchkings for the .223 and also some 7mm MKs for my Ruger #1 in 7 Rem Mag with Weaver fixed 4x- another hunting firearm. At the range the .223 gave me .52' groups with unfired brass and bullets seated .005 off the lands. With the Ruger- having some loading experience with it- I got a .24' three round group with once fired, neck sized brass and the bullet seated .007 into the lands. To say I was floored would be an understatement! Now an unfired S&W Nickel Model 29-2 has mysteriously turned into a Remington M700 SPS Varminter and a Weaver 6-24x in my safe!
I hope you people are happy,I am)!!!:)

Yes sad to see any pristine wheelgun disappear, but you'll probably have more fun in the long run with the rifles.

Anyway, RIP to the smith. Did it look like this?:

Yes, it was a 4' but with the checkered target stocks. It was my only safe queen. I feel that my firearms are to enjoy, shoot) and this gun was always looked at as a 'commodity' to be used to obtain another shooter- which it did quite well.
