Where do you find these little gems Butch?

A year or so ago Dave Kiff wanted to know if I wanted a NOS M40 and a M24. I gave the M24 to a buddy.

The barrel is about 26" and .832 at the muzzle. It has the Remington Arms, address, and 308Win marked on the barrel, but no proof marks or date code or other markings. It is a very good basis for an M40 rifle, but the parts needed are expensive if you get the real parts.

Not a clone as this is the real deal. The genuine stock, scope base, rings, and scope are pretty expensive if you find them.

That's awesome. I'm not a collector nor do I care much for older weapons, but an M24 is something I always have my eyes open for... If I ever saw one at a gun show or shop, I'd most likely take it home with me.

What timing you have…I have a “clone” to engrave the barrel and U S into the action…can you post a pic of where and what the 308 Winchester looks like?

The writing is so small on the barrel, I don't know if it will show up in a photo. I will try tomorrow as it is in the shop safe.
