Finally, got my mind made up on my next build with Zack (WSMNUT) Gonna go for a hunter in the Rem Model 7 in 30BR 1 - 15 Twist for 125 gr. Nosler AB & BT bullets. 24 inch Hawk Hill bead blasted fluted # 4 barrel. Will stay with the tight neck chamber to maintain best accuracy since brass life is very good. Will update as we move forward but I'm told not to be in a hurry. LOL.

Oh yea Zack will make it happen asap no doubt. But, the barrel lead time is going to be the time killer. I've had this build on my mind for awhile. Just shooting the factory model 7 in 243 for now til hunting season is over. At that point it will catch the bus to Virgina.

Bill. you mention this before. Why the 30BR and for what?
Is this for a close range deer rifle?
If you can find the barrel at Brunos or call one of the barrel makers
and see what they have on the shelf. Might speed up the build. ( a little )

Yea my shots are 100 yards or less back in the swamp behind my house. I think the 125 gr bullets will do well @ 3000 fps or less. And I have totally fell for the 30BR and its accuracy.

I’ve been toying with making a 30BR Varmint rifle. Why? I just think it would be fun. I think it would be a lot of fun thumping yotes at close range with one. I hope you start a thread when you get it and report. My first project with Zach is in progress, I’ve heard so much positive feedback I had to try OD rifles for myself.

If an off-the-shelf ".30cal" Krieger blank might work, BrunoShooters has a variety in stock right now. 1:13.5" and 1:14" twist, varmint and light varmint, .30cal bore. If so, it could circumvent the barrel wait times.

Thats fantastic. Im.sure you will be happy with his work. I enjoy shooting everything he has built for me. Zero complaints.

I think you will be impressed.

He did a rechamber job on my LG and after tuning my load I was able to shoot my first sub-1" group at a 600yd match. He is finishing up another build for me now and has another project of mine in his shop for after the new year. He is meticulous to detail.

Yea, Zack is as good as anyone will find. He builds a fine rifle.

Yea, I have shot the 125 B T and A B in my 1 -17 Twist B R rifle and they grouped well.

Shot these four 5-shot groups with my 700 30BR today with different loads @ 100 yds. This is why I want a sporter-hunter in this caliber.
