my newest build a 284 ackley in a coca stock

i just finished building this 284on a winchester post model 70 action put it in a John Plaster sniper stock which i got at a gun show had a bartlein barrel and finished it out at 26 inches added a quick brake . and mounted a vector 6x25x56 front foucal plain scope lighted mil dot. enjoy im getting ready to duracoat it next .

The muzzle brake looks like one I have coming for mine. I hope it reduces recoil nicely. Ive started using my 284 F class rifle in the field a lot more lately, great long range caliber, but I,m looking at getting a lighter hunting style stock for it and switch back and forth, maybe something like your stock.
What would you compare the recoil to with a brake on it? I,m hoping to spot my hits (or misses) as much as possible.

I have a 284 Shehane barrel with a muzzle brake that brings the gun weight in at 17 pounds. With the 180gr Bergers at 2900 fps, it recoils about the same as a 17 pound 6mmBR without a brake. Very significant recoil reduction.

Cr that bone sniper stock is a heavey stock it surprised me on the wt but it sure is a soild platfrom as to the brake ive been making that design and using it on all my large cal weapons that ive built 338 n0rma 338 win and the 300 weatherby also use it on my 6.5 ai 06 my 338 federal striker. it reduses recoil by 50 %or better wt or the weapon also is a factor in any brake design enjoy
