My New IWB Holsters

I have been using pocket holsters for a while now. I have tried several IWB holsters of many styles of which I have made myself. None of which were very comfortable. The draw back with a pocket holster it takes up a pocket and takes longer to access. I always had an issue with printing with a IWB holster. For the past year I have been losing weight after retirement I started growing out and an IWB holster became really uncomfortable. So, after losing weight I dropped 30 pounds and at 5'8" it was all gut and spare tire. So, I tried an IWB holster that I made specifically for my carries. Well, not having the tire bulge made a big difference. They both fight tight and are comfortable with no printing even in a semi tight t-shirt. Made one for my Kimber micro black ice and my Khar black SST K40. I wear them at 11 o'clock and withinnoseeum.jpgIWB11oclock.jpg 2 seconds I can draw them for service.

Southpaw? How are you molding the leather? I've put the gun/knife/cell phone in a plastic bag and wrapped wet leather around it to dry. Worked pretty well but curious if there is a better way.

Yup a southpaw but can also shoot off hand. I use the Glad press and seal 3 in 1 wrap it is thin and seals great.

I used to worry about printing, then realized that no one anymore takes enough time to look at another person to notice an outline near the waistline; everyone's on their phones, or just doesn't care to make eye contact, anyways.

Heck, it could be a phone in a pouch, a pager, a colostomy bag... WHO KNOWS?!?

Now that we're Open Carry (not that I do it), I care even less. Do I want it super-freakin' obvious that I have a pistol? No. But I also don't see news stories everyday where a CWP holder had his pistol unexpectedly taken and used to shoot up a place, ya know?

Sorry for the mini-rant.

The holsters look great! Congrats on the weight loss, BTW! My 5'8 ass has found the weight you lost.

Yes, wish printing was not a thing and in MD it is concealed carry only. Obvious printing is not a good thing, and you can be arrested for it. They only allow an incidental printing without any issues.

Wow! That sucks. I used to worry about my shirt riding up when carrying SOB or 5 o'clock and not knowing, as it could have been "brandishing."

It's nice to know that a wardrobe failure will no longer (possibly) land me in jail.

Since I have lost weight, appendix inside the waistband is the most comfortable concealed carry for me. Even while driving or sitting in the living room. Vedder is my brand of choice these days.

Fat guys like outside the waist band holsters .......................... at least I do.
